Customer Credentialing FAQs: Your Questions, Answered

At First Advantage, our Customer Credentialing process ensures that your organization is legitimate and that your account is used solely for approved business purposes. This crucial step is the foundation for establishing new customer accounts.

Many of our products and services are governed by U.S. state and federal laws that regulate consumer products, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and its amendment, the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACT act). These laws promote accuracy in consumer reporting and are meant to ensure the privacy of the information in consumer reports.

The websites of the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.com) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (www.consumerfinance.gov) provide educational materials and guidance documents for consumers and businesses.

Key Benefits of Customer Credentialing:

  • Mitigates Fraud Risk: Protects against unauthorized access to First Advantage information.
  • Ensures Compliance: Confirms that your organization meets all necessary regulations and requirements.

Site Inspection FAQs

Why is a site inspection required?

As part of Customer Credentialing, a site inspection of your business location is required. This important step helps confirm your organization is a genuine business and ensures compliance with First Advantage due diligence, the FCRA, and other state laws and contractual obligations. Site inspections add a layer of protection and help reduce risk.

How is the site inspectionion completed?

We partner with Truepic to offer a virtual site inspection experience. With the Truepic Vision app, you can quickly and securely share verified images, responses, and videos right from your iOS or Android device. A smartphone or other iOS or Android is acceptable. We do not have a browser-based method at this time.

Check out our Truepic brochure here for helpful tips!

How long does it take to complete the Truepic site inspection?

The site inspection typically takes just 10-15 minutes to complete.

How long do I have to complete the site inspection?

Your site inspection link will be active for 10 days after you receive the Truepic request. If your link expires and you need more time, just email cred@fadv.com for assistance.

My business is completely remote. How should the inspection be completed?

If you don’t have a commercial location, the site inspection can be done at the home of the owner or a company officer.

I work remotely and I am not in the office. What should I do?

If you work remotely and are not in the office, the site inspection must still take place at the office location listed on your application. If you can’t be there, please reach out to your Credentialing Analyst and provide the name, email, and mobile number of someone at that office who can complete the inspection.

What questions are included within the site inspection?

To help keep the process fair and secure, we’re unable to share the exact site inspection questions ahead of time.
